co-life is a small, independent household app I built for my own family.
I'm Robert Mataković, a designer and developer based in Zagreb. I started co-life because keeping a household running meant constantly remembering things, checking calendars, finding receipts, and asking each other questions.
I have two kids, two cats, and plenty of moving parts. co-life is the tool our household actually uses every day.
Why it exists
Most software is built for work and then adapted for home.
But running a household isn't really about project management. It's about remembering:
- Who is free on Thursday?
- Who paid for the shopping?
- Did anyone book the boiler service?
co-life keeps the basics in one place: calendar, expenses, and notes. Everyone in the household can see what matters, without turning home life into another project-management system.
Who writes the guides
I write every guide on this site based on things I've actually tried in my own household.
If I say a shared calendar works better with a colour for each person, or that a shared spreadsheet eventually becomes a mess, that's because I've seen it happen here.
When something is simply a matter of preference, I'll say so. There isn't always one right way to run a household.
Your data stays yours
No ads. No selling your data. No unnecessary tracking.
co-life runs on servers in the EU. You can export your data or delete your entire household whenever you want.
It's a small, independent project, and keeping it small is part of the point.
